GENERAL INFORMATION 2021

THE CLUB:   MCC is registered with Croquet England and affiliated to the Croquet North federation. The club was formed in 1988 at Ormesby Hall (NT), moved to Prissick Sports Park from 1998-2006 and is now in Albert Park. There are around thirty members, who meet for friendly games, coaching and season-long club competitions. MCC takes part in inter-club matches around the North East. We also host some tournaments during the season. There is ample equipment and information about all forms of croquet. New players are always very welcome! The club has a social programme over winter, including indoor croquet in Norton Methodist Hall.

LOCATION: 
  ALBERT PARKPark Road South, Middlesbrough TS5 6LD.

VISITORS:  Visitors are very welcome, but may only play if accompanied by a club member (who has access to the cabin and equipment). There is a nominal fee of £5 per visit.

COACHING: Regularly arranged for groups or individuals (contact the Secretary). Non-members – £12 for course of 6 lessons.

SUBSCRIPTIONS: Kept under review, please enquire. The Council issues season tickets to members and this is included in the subscription. New players are not required to join immediately and their subscriptions are reduced depending on the length of season remaining.

ACCESS: Many members have Gate and Club Cabin keys (where those for the Pavilion are kept).The four lawns are available daily from 09.30am until the Park closes (an hour before dusk), with the exception of maintenance, organised club sessions, home match days and other occasions as posted. The playing season runs from April through to end October.

BOOKINGS:  Members can book a lawn via the members’ area of the website or by ringing the Secretary. A membership list is available (also on-line).

CLUB DAYS:

  • Tuesdays – Association Croquet sessions 1000-1300 & 1400-1700
  • Wednesdays – Golf Croquet 1000-12.30 & 13.30-16.30 (Lunch in the park cafe)
  • Fridays – Coaching t.b.a. (both codes) 1230 onwards

       
DRESS: Flat-soled shoes. Treat equipment carefully, shut down pavilion, secure and lock the cabin and gate padlock
